Never Procrastinate Your Own Happiness
You are in control of your own happiness. I have said that many times in many different blog posts. However many of us seem to put happiness off until something else happens. Procrastination is what we do when we don't want to do the thing we should do. So we find other things to do or excuses why we cannot do the main thing
If you ever hear yourself uttering phrases like "I will go back to school when...", "I will get a new job when...", "I will leave him/her when...", "I won't be happy until..." Well those are all procrastinating doing something that will make you happier. Why are you putting conditions on your own personal happiness? Why do you have to wait for something to happen in order for you to do what it takes to make you happy?
The answer is that you do not and should not put off happiness. Time is something that is valuable but also something that is not guaranteed So while you are waiting for the right time to be happy you may never get that chance. If there is something that you want to do then you need to step up and DO IT. You make the choices that make YOUR history. Life is meant to be lived fully and with joy. So never stop yourself from being happy because you can do whatever you want to and dream of.
I urge you to look at your life and find the excuses you have given to yourself and others that are preventing you from doing and being who you want. You are the only one who can remove those roadblocks and travel down the path to your life filled with happiness. You are the only one who can live your life!

The Lesson of the Burnt Biscuits
This story is one that has been told many times before though there seems to be no direct author. It is featured in many inspirational writings as well as religious teachings. I love the lesson of appreciation that this story conveys. So here is the story of the burnt biscuits...
"When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work.
On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!
When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he said: "Honey, I love burned biscuits."
Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides - a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!"
Life is full of imperfect things......and imperfect people. I'm not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else. But what I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each others faults - and choosing to celebrate each others differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.
And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God. Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!
We could extend this to any relationship. In fact, understanding is the base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or friendship!
"Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket - keep it in your own."
God Bless You..... Now, and Always....
So Please pass me a biscuit, and yes, the burnt one will do just fine.!.!.!.! And PLEASE pass this along to someone who has enriched your life... I just did!"
So many of us are quick to argue, get angry, or even end relationships over petty small things. It is more important to appreciate people for who they are and not focus on their mistakes. You would not want someone to point out your every mistake so why do it to others? In fact when someone makes a mistake it is more important to show your love in that moment then to criticize. Not only will that expression of love stick out and always be remembered it will help to further deepen the bond of your relationship. So let the burnt biscuits of life go and be grateful for what you do have.

The Power of Love - Day 6
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! Love is the most powerful emotional expression we can give to others and ourselves. By putting love out into the world you are showing that you are happy and want others to be happy. So with this quote it reminds us that it is how we truly feel about each other an ourselves that matters. Not materialistic things or achievements, but simply how much love you have in your life.
Express love wherever you are and always look for the good and love in another. It is there, I promise.
The Power of Love - Day 5
When you love someone without conditions you are truly expressing love. There should not have to be any rules, laws, or bartering to make it work. Each person needs to let the other be themselves and have freedom to express. If you have a fear of something bad happening or betrayal then you are not allowing yourself to fully love. If you live in fear of what may or may not happen then you are not giving your full mind and heart to loving another.
Focus on the love you have to give and receive and not the negative. Love is here and now in this moment, not what might happen to mess it up.

The Power of Love: Day 4
The amazing thing about love is that you see each other in a light that no one else does. Others may focus on and talk about your flaws, or be the first one to point out when you make a mistake. But they don't fully see you for the person that you are. Instead, they judge you on that one moment or thing that, in their opinion, is not right or normal.
It truly is a miracle of life that someone else is able to see and appreciate the real you inside and that you feel comfortable to show them that. So don't ever think that there is not someone out there for everyone because there is someone who will see you the way you know you are inside. And also take it as a lesson that you should take the time to get to know someone before judging them. All judging does is reveal your own insecurities about yourself and love.

Power of Love: Day 3
We all look for that one special person in our lives. That one person that makes us complete. That one person that we just know is 'the one' when you see each other. What is interesting is that perfect person is actually a direct reflection of how you feel about yourself and the things you aspire to be. I am not saying that you find someone you want to be like in every possible way but you find someone who has qualities that you value and want to bring forward in your life.
Just like with anything in life you bring about what you think about. If you take a look at the people in your life you will notice personalities that you identify with and traits that you want to have. And the funny thing is that these things may not be fully aware to you until you meet that person but then it will make sense. The person who comes into your life as your soul mate is showing you the person you want to be. You were so focused and believed in a specific type of person that the universe brought you two together. And when you are brought together it was because you shared the same wants and needs for what you wanted out of a relationship. And throughout your whole relationship you show each other what is holding the other back from being who they truly are and the reflections you see in each other show you who you really are. Because what you are giving off is what is being given back to you.
So look in the mirror that is your soul mate and see if you like what is being reflected back.

The Power of Love: Day 2
It is a sad but true fact that many of us hide behind masks, or lies, created by others or even ourselves. We try to be someone or something that we are not because of fear of rejection or ridicule by others. When in reality it is more freeing and brings more happiness to you when you are able to be yourself. No matter how weird, odd, or different you may be, you are still you and you need to love you. Because believe it or not there is someone out there with the same weird qualities or who likes people with those weird qualities that will find you. Love is a powerful thing and the universe brings certain people together for a reason.
You will be more likely to find a partner who appreciates you when you let people see you for who you are. And likewise, you will also be able to be yourself more with someone who lets you continue to be yourself, flaws and all. So take off the mask hiding you and live your life!

The Power of Love: Day 1
Love is something we all look for and hope to give to those in our life. However I think that many people don't look past the words and say it without really thinking or feeling it. "I Love You" is just something we say to our loved ones when we leave, go to bed, end a conversation, and just randomly throughout the day. But do we really mean it?
Don't get me wrong I am not saying that you don't mean it when you say it. I am just asking, do you really feel the true power of love and what it means to you when you say it? Do you really love the other person or are you just saying it because it feels like you should. This quote by Nicolas Sparks reminds us that love is more than just saying those three words. It is about doing things regularly that show our partner that we are devoted to them and want them to be an important part of our lives. Find ways throughout your day to show others how you love them. Actions speak louder than words. Notes, texts, surprises, helping with daily chores, spontaneous dates, listening, etc. Make it a point to do at least one thing a day to show someone that you love them. And I can guarantee that you will receive love back and truly feel "I Love You" when it is said.
Comment below with your ideas or ways that you show others you love them!
"The Power of Love"
Love is the strongest force on earth. It causes the most joy and pain in our lives. Love is more than just the love for another person it is also just how you feel about your life and the world around you. When you are happy, having a good day, showing gratitude, treating another nicely; you are expressing love.

Dr. Seuss Quotes - Day 9
We all know the literal meaning of this quote in relation to "The Lorax". But it still rings true in many areas of your life. Unless you care about something and put forth the effort to change it, then it will not change.
You don't get something from nothing. You need to believe in it and work for it.

Dr. Seuss Quotes- Day 8
This is one of my all time favorite quotes, from Dr. Seuss and just in general. This states that you really should cherish every moment with every person. You may not know in the value of what you are doing now with someone. It may seem like something so small, but you may look back at it later in life and realize how special that moment really was.
We are only on this earth for a short time and you never know when someone will not be in your life. Be grateful for each moment in your life and act as each is a memory in the making!

Dr. Seuss Quotes - Day 7
This one sums up nicely the message that I keep proclaiming on this blog. You are YOU! No one else is like you or can live your life but YOU! Be proud of who you are and if you don't like something about your life, then change it!

Dr. Seuss Quotes - Day 6
The great thing about today is that there is also tomorrow. Now while no one is guaranteed tomorrow it is still good to know that you get a second chance. You may have heard the quote, "There is such thing as a second chance. It's tomorrow". No matter what mistakes or bad decisions we made we have a whole other day to try it again tomorrow.
So remember while today was good and today was fun, you will have another one tomorrow. So live each day for the moment and enjoy today and try something else tomorrow!
